I received my Dragon Tea House today and I am thrilled with the building. Finally, additional Chinese buildings for those of us making Chinatowns!
I have a few critiques: the upstairs balcony feels like plastic unlike others I have that are metal. Also, the interchangeable pieces (Dragon Tea and greenery swag, plus two TINY pieces had I had not noticed before: a wreath and a gold dragon’s head that can be placed on the front door or between the front windows) are minuscule and thin and rely on 3M stickers for placement. I don’t know why but I pictured them to be thicker and maybe magnetic since those stickers will probably only work once. Finally, the box is pretty but appalling in its thinness — the stock paper feels like an index card. Thankfully the styrofoam has been replaced with a custom cut foam. The building was taped in securely on its side, but once I removed the taped foam from the box, I could easily remove the tape and place the foam back in the box facing up.
I’m thrilled to finally have a new piece and a dragon at that, but at this price I expect better quality boxes and materials.
